Payroll Specialist Contractor | Overland Park, KS
LHH is partnering with a client that is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to join their onsite team in Overland Park. This Contract role is critical for the success of the team during a busy transition and looking for someone with a strong understanding of payroll processes, compliance, and reporting. The position plays a key role in maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring timely and compliant payroll operations.
Responsibilities :
Maintain payroll records for hourly personnel
Coordinate unemployment compensation claims with a third-party administrator
Complete employment verifications for internal and external requests
Prepare and validate payroll reports for accuracy and compliance
Test and evaluate system updates to ensure payroll accuracy
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency
Stay current with changing government regulations related to payroll
Requirements :
2+ years of payroll experience preferred
Strong understanding of payroll systems and compliance
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
Compensation : $35–45 / hour
Job Type : Direct Hire
