JOB TITLE : Financial Aid Coordinator
SUMMARY : The Financial Aid Coordinator is responsible for administering and coordinating all aspects of the financial aid process for residents, ensuring compliance with institutional regulations. This position works collaboratively with admissions, the accounting department, and academic department, and serves as the key point of contact for all residents to ensure timely and accurate financial aid disbursement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Financial Aid
- Review and process financial aid applications in accordance with institutional guidelines, which includes calculating tuition and financial aid funds
- Prepare financial aid award packages and coordinate disbursement of financial aid funds
- Assist with maintenance of scholarship packages as it applies to tuition; collaborate with accounting department for adjustment on accounts
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school, residents, and external loan agencies, including private and federal lenders
- Track and manage tuition payments, late fee placement on accounts, and maintain detailed reports of all payments
- Maintain current knowledge of loan program changes (e.g. Sallie Mae)
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic and physical records of all financial documents including tuition payments, loan packages, scholarships, and all other documents as related to resident financial aid
Student Communication and Compliance
Assist residents, both current and incoming, in understanding eligibility requirements and application processesServe as the first point of contact for financial aid inquiries and provide individualized guidance for residentsServe as a liaison between the Accounting Department, Residents, and Admissions DepartmentConduct financial aid orientations for incoming residents to address concerns surrounding financial aid eligibilityMaintain accurate and detailed records of all financial aid related communications and transactions for audit purposesTrack tuition payments in coordination with the Accounting DepartmentRecommend improvements to financial aid procedures and communication strategiesSupport institutional goals related to student enrollment and retention through financial aid initiativesGenerate and communicate reports as requested by the Accounting Department and Executive TeamSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in finance or business administration from a four-year college or university, and two to three years of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Basic Math Skills RequiredComputer skills required : Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Computer Skills preferred : Microsoft Dynamics CRM
