Responsibilities
As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we're constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we're continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles. APD (Advanced Program & Delivery) is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants.
The Manufacturing Engineer candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following :
- Deliver Manufacturing Delivery Quality Operating System requirements for your specific Subsystem (Electrical, Powertrain, Suspension, Exterior, Interior, Vehicle Engineering).
- Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.
- Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high volume assembly operations.
- Write / modify / maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts.
- Lead manufacturing assembly builds (DCV, TT, PP, MP1 and MP2) in Canada, Mexico & US assembly plants
- Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Final Assembly Engineering feasibility issues.
- Create and follow a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of tools in your subsystem.
- Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site. In addition, support tooling buyoffs @ vendor facilities.
- Drive Engineering Change implementation throughout the key program milestones
- Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and tooling issues.
- Develop "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs.
- Support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives.
- Deliver cycle line layouts and work with the assembly plants to have a complete operator / equipment workstation ready for launch
- Interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning
Qualifications
