Be prepared with six-inch lace-up safety-toe boots, which are mandatory for this role. New hires must obtain their boots prior to orientation.
Your Responsibilities :
- Repair and maintain a variety of industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machine centers like debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure timely upkeep of equipment.
- Safely move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Adjust tension and clearances on nuts and bolts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Align machinery using hand tools and precision measuring devices.
- Assemble and install equipment with hand and power tools.
- Drill mounting holes using power drills based on layout specifications.
- Replace or adjust defective machine parts.
- Level bedplates and establish centerlines using appropriate tools.
- Dismantle machinery using various hand tools.
- Attach moving parts and subassemblies to assembly units.
- Participate in company-specific mechanical training sessions.
What You Need to Succeed :
High School Diploma or GED required.Self-starter who works well under pressure and prioritizes safety.Completion of pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background check is mandatory.Willingness to travel and complete the West Fraser Qualified Millwright training program.A strong safety orientation with compliance to ZES standards.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.Must pass the trade qualifications test.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.Physical capability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.Comfortable using tablets for documentation of maintenance tasks.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with cutting torches (Oxygen / Acetylene).Welding experience (GMAW and SMAW).Prior experience as a Millwright.Benefits :
