Job Title : Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist

Location : Bronx, NY (Hybrid for 1-2 weeks, then can be done remotely)

Pay Rate : $30 / hour

About the Role :

A leading wholesale food distributor in the Bronx is seeking an experienced AR / Collections Specialist to join their team. This role starts hybrid for training and transitions to fully remote. You will manage high-volume vendor accounts and tackle bringing down the clients aging / collections while collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage accounts receivable and collections for 52-100 vendors with a portfolio of approximately $6 million .
• Focus efforts on the top 20 vendors in terms of most outstanding balances.
• Handle rebate processing and maintain accurate records of rebate transactions.
• Dedicate time to vendor outreach and correspondence, ensuring clear communication and resolution of issues.
• Review aging balances, reconcile statements, and compare vendor records without disrupting their closing processes.
• Utilize Vesta , an intuitive legacy system, for processing and account management.
• Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to review contract terms and mediate discrepancies.
