Job Description :

The Production Control Coordinator (Logistics) oversees the management of packaging supplier capacity and scheduling, the availability of proper shipping documentation, and coordination of activities with DCMA representatives for all shipments. Assists MLM with logistics of off-site storage and the production areas by reviewing incoming receipts, priorities, availability of material / parts, and production schedules in coordination with Planning.

This position will coordinate with all functions that play a part in the shipping process for all programs.

Essential Functions :

Works with designated packaging suppliers to track their capacity and schedule packaging for upcoming shipments in a timely manner.

Tracks scheduled customer shipments to ensure packaging is requested with adequate lead-time.

Ensures shipping documentation is requested with enough notice for customers to provide in a timely manner; is received in time; and is accurate.

Coordinates with internal functions and DCMA to ensure approval of impending shipments.

Works closely with the Production and Production Control Departments for all shipment-related issues ensuring that schedules are maintained and products are completed and shipped in a timely manner.

Will be required to attend regular meetings with management and report status and problems associated with shipping issues.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager.

Qualifications :

Strong background in finished goods shipment coordination or relatable experience in shipment logistics coordination.

Must show the ability and leadership qualities to interact and communicate with other function personnel and Government representatives in fast-paced and high velocity environments.

Must be proficient in the use of personal computers with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel and have a complete understanding of mainframe based MRP or manufacturing systems for tracking of work for the stocking, issuing and tracking of material.

Cross-functional team coordination experience is desirable.

Preferred Additional Skills :

Familiarity with L3Harris product lines and military shipping standards is preferred.

Familiarity of FAR and DFARs in relation to logistics requirements in Govt contracts.

Experience working with Program Management Teams in project / schedule management.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Education :

Requires fully proficient job knowledge / skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary / Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $55,000-102,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
