The Health and Safety Specialist II plays a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining corporate health and safety programs. Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, this position ensures compliance with OSHA regulations (federal and state), national standards, and risk management practices. The role supports both traditional power generation facilities and renewable energy projects , promoting a strong culture of safety excellence across all operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, national standards, and corporate risk management practices.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in collaboration with leadership.
- Conduct incident investigations, coordinate medical treatment with HR, and analyze trends to recommend corrective actions.
- Design and implement processes to mitigate hazards and prevent future incidents.
- Drive participation in corporate safety awareness programs and recommend new initiatives.
- Inspect facilities, equipment, and procedures for compliance; follow up on corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training, assess knowledge retention, and support enforcement by supervisors.
- Maintain OSHA 300 Logs and track departmental safety work orders.
