Schedule and Additional Information :

Nights, with 8 and 12-hour shifts, every third weekend rotation, and holiday rotation.

Incentives :

Unit Overview :

Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you will care for diverse patients including :

Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections

Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries

Patients from our Comprehensive Stroke Program

As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques.

Deliver and manage comprehensive, evidence-based patient care

Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams for safe and compassionate care

Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to optimize patient outcomes

Contribute to a positive patient experience across the continuum of care

Major Responsibilities :

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs and coordinate individualized care

Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and adjust care plans as needed

Implement strategies to enhance patient safety and readiness to learn

Coordinate discharge plans with an interdisciplinary approach

Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and engage in process improvement

Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills

Licensure and Certification Required :

Registered Nurse license in the state of practice

BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA

Education and Experience Required :

Completion of an accredited Nursing program

Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience

Skills and Abilities :

Proficient in holistic patient care and communication

Ability to recognize and respond to situational changes with confidence

Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements :

Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform various physical tasks throughout the workday

Must be able to lift weights as specified and assist in patient transfers

Work may involve exposure to chemical and hazardous materials; appropriate safety gear is provided
