About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer with 3–8 years of experience to design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ETL workflows, and large‑scale data solutions. This role requires strong SQL expertise, hands-on ETL experience, and the ability to work effectively in a consulting environment. Experience within the Energy & Utilities sector is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data integration processes.
- Develop robust datasets using advanced SQL and query performance optimization.
- Collaborate with business teams and solution architects to gather and translate data requirements.
- Perform data validation, quality assurance, and ingestion activities.
- Improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Support data migration efforts and system integrations (cloud and on‑prem).
- Troubleshoot production data issues and maintain data pipeline health.
- Document data flows, solution design, and technical specifications.
- Contribute to best practices, engineering standards, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
3–8 years of professional Data Engineering experience.Strong expertise in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning, modeling).Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, ADF, SSIS, AWS Glue, or similar.Experience building and maintaining data pipelines in cloud or on-prem environments .Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and integration patterns.Prior experience working in a consulting or client-facing role.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Must be local to Houston , with ability to work onsite as needed.No visa sponsorship available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Energy & Utilities , Oil & Gas, or Power sectors.Experience with cloud-native data tools (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Databricks, Snowflake).Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for automation.Familiarity with CI / CD workflows for data engineering.Why Join Us
