Are you a certified welder located in Metairie, LA, with a strong background in advanced welding techniques? United Trades of America is actively seeking highly skilled welders to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about their craft and eager to contribute to a leading company in the industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Welding Techniques : Utilize various welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) to accurately and efficiently fuse a range of metals. Demonstrate expertise in each technique to ensure high-quality welds.
  • Machine Management : Operate and oversee welding machines and equipment used in the manufacturing and repair of metal structures, tools, and machinery. Maintain equipment in good working condition and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Blueprint Reading and Dimension Calculation : Interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine welding requirements and material specifications. Calculate precise welding dimensions to ensure that all components meet project specifications.
  • Surface Testing : Conduct comprehensive testing of welded surfaces to verify the strength, quality, and compliance with industry standards. Address any defects or issues promptly to ensure the final product meets or exceeds quality expectations.
  • Additional Duties : Perform supplementary tasks such as cutting, soldering, or brazing as needed to complete welding projects. Adapt to various welding and fabrication requirements based on project needs.

Qualifications :

  • Certification : Valid certification in welding (e.g., AWS) is required. Demonstrated proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes is essential.
  • Experience : Extensive experience in welding, particularly within construction, commercial, or industrial settings. Proven ability to handle complex welding tasks with precision.
  • Skills : Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent calculation skills for welding dimensions and adherence to safety and quality standards.
