Work Location : This position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, pursuant to the College’s Work Location Policy.

About the Position

The successful Post-Graduate Fellow candidate has a demonstrated special interest in working with late adolescents and young adults, and an interest in promoting inclusivity and social justice in their practice. Post-Graduate Fellows provide ongoing psychotherapy to Haverford College Students, and work collaboratively with Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) colleagues and other student services colleagues to manage cases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide weekly ongoing psychotherapy to students presenting with a range of mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, as well as character and personality disorders
• Help students navigate interpersonal difficulties related to conflict, romance, and academic performance
• Maintain records and responsibly manage the files of the students
• Write weekly clinical notes and formulate thorough understandings of students presenting problems
• Work collaboratively with others in the CAPS team in the management of students’ cases, including participation in a weekly intake meeting and a two-hour weekly clinical case conference
• Serve as a resource for the college to provide consultation with student services personnel
• Run groups and conduct workshops in accordance with the interest and needs of the student population
• Work with the outreach coordinator to construct programming and attend relevant student events on campus
• Participate in a weekly ongoing reading group and a didactic seminar on applying psychoanalytic theory to the college population

Line of Report : The Post-Graduate Fellows report to the Director of CAPS.
