Special Education Teacher

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A middle school is seeking a dedicated Functional Life Skills (FLS) Special Education Teacher for a full 25/26 school year contract. This position involves working 37.5 hours per week in a specialized setting designed to support students with significant needs through tailored educational programs.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering instruction and support to students within a Functional Life Skills classroom.
• Collaborating with an instructional assistant who provides onsite support for a manageable caseload.
• Utilizing adapted curriculum strategies to meet individual student goals.
• Engaging with assigned Special Education Advisor during the initial six months to enhance professional development and student outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Special education licensure with a focus on adapted curriculum, or actively pursuing licensure pathway towards a provisional license.
• Experience or aptitude for working effectively with students requiring functional life skills instruction.
• Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes growth and independence.
