This role is part of a team of 4–6 catering attendants responsible for setting up and breaking down buffet-style breakfast and lunch service within a corporate office cafeteria, with opportunities to work across multiple client sites and events within NYC. Core duties include supporting daily food service by plating food, replenishing buffet lines, stocking pantries and maintaining a food-safe, sanitary environment in compliance with all safety guidelines.
- Responsible for maintaining daily food service in a corporate office setting, including stocking pantries, plating foods, and replenishing buffet lines.
- Responsible for maintaining a food-safe and sanitary environment for service that meets safe food handling guidelines.
- Greet, assist, and communicate with guests, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Have a great understanding of each menu, and provide suggestions and alternatives to guests with dietary restrictions.
- Having basic level knife handling to perform basic food preparation tasks, which include washing, peeling, and cutting fruit and vegetables, seasoning and slicing meats, and preparing sauces and salads.
- Ability to read and prepare simple recipes such as waffle or pancake mixes, omelets, oatmeal etc.
- Setting up and breaking down dining and buffet areas as per the Enterprise Dining Lead’s instructions. Ensuring all tableware and chafing dishes are properly cleaned and sanitized before each service / catering event.
- Providing support when loading and unloading food, tableware, and catering supplies onto and off catering vehicles.
- Appropriately storing clean chafing dishes, tableware, platters, and equipment after each service / catering attendant as well as dishwashing.
- Must be willing to work and commute to multiple sites in Manhattan to provide coverage when needed.
