A school-based social worker opportunity is available in Bolingbrook, IL, serving K-12 students on a contract basis for the current school year. This role focuses on supporting students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges through both individual and group counseling.
Key responsibilities include conducting prehensive assessments, contributing to multidisciplinary evaluations such as social developmental studies for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and actively participating in IEP meetings to develop meaningful social-emotional goals and services. Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents is essential to create effective behavioral intervention strategies. The position also requires facilitating referrals to munity-based services, providing crisis intervention, and delivering trauma-informed support when needed.
Qualifications for this role require a Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program and possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed for School Social Worker by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). While Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credentials are preferred, they are not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal, munication, and problem-solving skills, with experience working with diverse populations and students with disabilities considered advantageous. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish and English are encouraged to apply.
