The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This in-office position is a part of the investigative team and is responsible for analyzing and investigating incoming complaints for alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules regulated by the Department.
Your specific responsibilities include examining and evaluating complaints against condominium, cooperative and timeshare associations. This includes conducting investigations regarding a wide range of complex issues, analyzing and reviewing complaints to determine if sufficient evidence was provided to move forward with an investigation, preparing investigative memos/reports, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and conducting authorized travel and maintaining investigative files.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, investigative techniques, reading, interpreting and applying statutes and administrative rules, conducting fact-finding interviews and taking statements, collecting and analyzing evidence, conducting thorough investigations, writing accurate investigative reports, attention to detail and critical thinking, strong oral and written communication, and customer service etiquette are required. Minimum requirement includes one year of investigative experience and one year of experience in researching and analyzing statutory issues. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of investigative experience. Bilingual in both English and Spanish is also preferred.
