Electrical Engineer - Odessa/Houston, TX Full Time

Texas Trades is on the hunt for sharp, detail-driven Electrical Engineers with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 8-15 years of experience in oil, gas, and chemical facility design. If you thrive on managing multiple projects, tackling tough engineering challenges, and collaborating across disciplines, this could be your next big move! Travel or relocation may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical engineering for large-scale industrial projects in gas processing, refining, and petrochemicals.

• Conduct shop/field testing of switchgear and motor control center equipment.

• Design power distribution, grounding, lighting, motor control, and variable frequency drive systems.

• Perform power studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, motor starting, and arc flash).

• Review and approve key electrical design deliverables like wiring diagrams and one-line drawings.

• Develop scopes of work, project schedules, and engineering estimates.

• Act as a key liaison, ensuring seamless coordination with clients, engineers, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (required).

• 5+ years' experience preferred.

• EIT licensure required; P.E. by exam preferred.

• Expertise in LV/MV transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and VFDs.

• Experience with industrial power system analysis using SKM tools or similar software.

• Strong understanding of National Electrical Code and API standards.

Physical Demands

• Work at a desk, but also walk sites, inspect equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
