Sterling Staffing Solutions is seeking skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to join our team and support high-quality patient care in a correctional healthcare setting. If you are dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in Medical-Surgical nursing , we want to hear from you!

🩺 Position : Med Surg LVN

Employment Type : 1099 Contractor

Compensation : $35 / 40 hour

Contract : 90-day contract, with potential for extension

Primary Focus : Medical-Surgical Care

📅 Schedule & Training

Day Shifts : 5 : 45 AM – 6 : 15 PM (8-hour designated shifts within facility scheduling)
Night Shifts : 5 : 15 PM – 6 : 45 AM (8-hour designated shifts within facility scheduling)
Schedule : 3–4 days per week
Weekend Requirement : Must be available every other weekend
Training : 1 week of onsite training (UKG, Dress Code, Safety, and Facility Policies)

📝 Responsibilities

Provide high-quality Med Surg nursing care to patients in a correctional healthcare environment.

Conduct patient assessments, monitor vitals, and report changes to the RN or provider.

Administer medications and treatments per protocols.

Assist with wound care, patient monitoring, and daily medical needs.

Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with facility standards.

Support safety, infection control, and emergency protocols.

Work collaboratively with RNs, providers, and correctional staff to maintain a secure care environment.

🎓 Required Certifications

Active LVN License

BLS / CPR (AHA only)

📄 Required Documents

LVN Diploma

Clear copy of Driver’s License

Clear copy of Social Security Card

Professional References

💉 Required Immunizations

Hepatitis B titers (reactive preferred; if non-reactive, provide first dose + results)

MMR

Varicella

TB Test (annual) or Chest X-ray (valid 5 years)

Flu Vaccine (during flu season)

Tdap (valid 10 years)

🧪 Testing & Compliance Requirements

Annual SAMA (Safe Crisis Management) – 8-hour training

Annual N95 Mask Fit Test

Physical exam from PCP confirming fitness for duty (no restrictions)

PREA Registration & facility-specific compliance

Adherence to policies including Sharp Disposal, Housing Access Request, and Tattoo Policy
