VP of Drayage Operations

Our client is currently one of the largest and most sophisticated intermodal trucking providers in the US. Along with their highly dedicated drayage specialists, they are committed to providing their customers with 100% satisfaction both on On-Time delivery and customer communication. Our client specializes in the transportation of Import and Export Ocean Containers (FCL) out of all the US ports with a very strong presence in the Port of NY and NJ region.

VP of Drayage Operations
Our client is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented VP of Drayage Operations to oversee their operations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent multitasking abilities, great client relationships and a deep understanding of operations management as well as other duties that are outlined below.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the terminals to ensure on-time delivery with high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Serve as the escalation point and relationship manager for customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Supervise and support a team of account managers, dispatchers, and other operational staff. Handle high-level interactions with drivers.
• Actively participate in new projects and terminal developments, bringing innovative solutions to operational challenges.
• Manage the operations team, as well as oversee the hiring, and training processes for employees within the operations team.
• Maintain exceptional organizational skills, with ability to multitask and be detail oriented.
• Anticipate and address operational issues before they become problems, implementing proactive solutions.
• Travel to terminal locations, company hubs, client meetings, and industry events as needed.

Experience:

• Experience in operational leadership roles within the logistics industry, with a focus on drayage.
• Strong understanding of drayage operations, logistics processes, and transportation management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to problem- solving.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
• Willingness to travel frequently to attend trade shows, conferences, and client meetings as needed.
• Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suite.
