Overview

We are seeking a Junior ETL / ELT Developer to support a key federal client. The ideal candidate will have some experience or a strong academic background in data engineering, data integration, and ETL / ELT development. Familiarity with SAP Data Services and Oracle is a plus.
This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring on-site presence three days per week.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining ETL / ELT pipelines.

Support the development of SAP Data Services jobs to extract, transform, and load data from source systems into Oracle-based data marts and data warehouses.

Participate in gathering and documenting business and technical requirements for data workflows.

Work collaboratively with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to implement data solutions.

Help maintain existing SAP Data Services implementations and troubleshoot issues.

Follow best practices in development and documentation.

Assist in creating and updating technical documentation for data processes.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong foundational SQL skills.

Familiarity with Oracle PL / SQL or similar database programming languages.

Exposure to SAP Data Services or similar ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, IBM DataStage).

Basic understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling.

Ability to work in Agile development environments.

Strong communication skills with the ability to learn and convey technical concepts clearly.

Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with additional programming languages such as T-SQL or PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.

3+ years of experience with ETL processes in data warehousing projects.
