Director of Software Engineering - Connectivity Security

Join our innovative team as a Director of Software Engineering at Capital One, where you will lead cutting-edge projects focused on ensuring secure data transfer across our ecosystem. Your expertise will drive everything from dynamic web and mobile applications to robust microservices and advanced machine learning models. We are looking for an experienced leader proficient in a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to Node.js, Java, GO, AngularJS, React, Python, and AWS / Cloud Infrastructure.

The Connectivity Security team is dedicated to building and maintaining sustainable platforms that safeguard data interactions within Capital One. Your role will encompass leading the Customer Enablement function, managing existing processes, and shaping our strategic vision.

You will :

Lead, manage, and develop multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.

Mentor and inspire engineers to grow both professionally and technically.

Collaborate with product managers to define desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.

Continuously enhance software engineering practices to elevate our output.

Partner with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support end-to-end technical solutions.

Ensure high craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability in your solutions.

Stay ahead of tech trends, explore new technologies, and engage in tech communities while mentoring fellow engineers.

Foster an environment of innovation, inclusivity, and teamwork.

Collaborate to improve the productivity and velocity of your teams.

Lead projects involving the deployment of new and existing applications to AWS environments.

Transform monolithic applications into microservice architectures and develop new microservices.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree.

At least 7 years of experience in software development.

At least 5 years of experience managing teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

10+ years of software development experience.

5+ years of experience with Agile methodologies.
