Candidates must be EPIC proficient. Candidates must care for step down patients due to the universal bed model. Description : This position is for a Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse. The setting provides care primarily for post-operative adult patients. The position includes caring for patients with acute coronary syndromes, including NSTEMI, STEMI, and CHF. The unit accommodates a maximum of 8 beds. The staffing model includes a universal bed system, allowing ICU patients downgraded to step down to remain in the unit until discharge. The nurse will manage various critical care duties, including arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care. Experience in starting IVs, procedural sedation administration, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips is essential. Strong neuro experience is required, particularly with post brain surgery patients, EVD management, and ventilator care. Candidates should be capable of interpreting EKGs and managing dysrhythmias. The nurse will assist with the care of ventilated patients and nutrition protocols. Additional responsibilities include monitoring pulmonary artery lines and managing infection prevention protocols. All candidates must have documentation to verify competency in their skills. Preferred skills include managing thermoregulation in patients with renal failure and accessing ports for therapies.
