Job Title
The Director of the Mayor's Task Force on Housing oversees and directs the operation of a housing task force, focusing on the new Rental Dwelling Unit Registration Program under the direct supervision of the Commissioner of Permit and Inspection Services. The incumbent establishes and implements policies and procedures, which will accomplish goals and objectives of the task force. Supervision is exercised over personnel assigned.
Examples of work (Illustration Only) :
- Oversees the new Rental Dwelling Unit Registration Program;
- Issues certificates to owners who comply;
- Oversees the development and maintenance of an accurate database of properties and owners;
- Schedules and oversees inspections for non-compliance and complaints received;
- Investigates property complaints to locate violating owners of record;
- Conducts hearings as necessary;
- Maintains confidential files on complainants, owners of property, and violation records.
- Protects confidentiality of informants;
- Tracks code enforcement activities in the Concentrated Code Enforcement areas eligible for federal assistance money as part of the targeted Neighborhood Preservation and Conservation Program;
- Works with the Mayor's Office and other city departments to implement a program that reviews potential demolition of properties along with the Good Neighbor Planning Alliance and Community-Based Organizations;
- Performs related duties as required by the Commissioner or at the request of the Mayor.
Minimum Qualifications :
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and three years full-time experience in a housing related fieldOR B. Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and five years of full-time experience in a housing related fieldOR C. Graduation from High School, GED or Equivalency Diploma and seven years of full-time experience in a housing related fieldOR D. An equivalent combination of the above education and experience requirement as defined within the limits of (A) through (C).Housing related field is defined as building inspections, community revitalization or the housing / building demolition field.Additional Information :
