Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Oncology unit Med / Surg position requiring Chemo certification and a CT or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an Oncology unit within a short-term acute care hospital
  • Day shift schedule with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, starting at 7 : 00 am
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating to other Med / Surg units as needed
  • Level II Trauma Center with a total of 426 staffed beds
  • Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience is preferred
  • Primary care for oncology and Med / Surg patients, including chemotherapy administration
  • Participation in natural disaster or emergency response activities may be required
  • Facility can auto-approve up to seven days of requested time off
  • Flu vaccination is required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless a religious or medical exemption is approved
  • Returning permanent staff must be gone for at least two years to be considered as a traveler

    • Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license required
  • Chemo certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Cannot have prior issues on nursing license
  • Must live at least 75 miles from the facility unless applying for local rate
