Youth Residential Worker

Full Time | Day, Evening and Night Shifts
Pay: $16.25-17/hour

As a Youth Residential Worker, you will provide direct care, case management, and residential treatment services to children in a home-like setting. You will play a key role in supporting youth with emotional and/or behavioral challenges by helping them build life skills, maintain daily routines, and develop positive coping strategies.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and thrives in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
What will I do as a Youth Residential Worker with Genacross?
- Supervise, engage, and positively interact with youth in a safe, supportive environment
- Develop and implement behavioral programming tailored to each resident
- Accurately document daily observations, behaviors, and social interactions
- Assist with activities of daily living such as hygiene, meals, and self-care
- Teach social skills and independent living skills
- Provide coping strategies to help prevent crisis situations
- De-escalate situations verbally and utilize approved physical intervention only when necessary
- Plan and participate in recreational activities (games, crafts, sports, etc.)
- Perform household duties including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe living space
- Attend treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and required trainings
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure continuity of care
- Follow trauma-informed care practices in all interactions
- Provide shift coverage as needed, including emergencies
Schedule & Flexibility:
- We offer a variety of scheduling options depending on location.
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts.
- Employees who pick up shifts beyond 40 hours are eligible for additional pick-up pay.
Youth Residential Worker Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must be 21 years or older
- Valid driver's license required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for working with children
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred
- Must pass all background screening requirements
