Job Description :
T he UF Health CancerInstituteis the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the onlyone at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center we spanallof the University of Floridas 16 colleges pulling together a world-class multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.
As an Academic Program Specialist at the UF Health CancerInstitute(UFHCI) you willbe responsible forassistingwith the management ofprogrammatic offerings of the Cancer Training & Education Program (CTEP) including development of program materials events planning and other activities in support of the educational mission of the UFHCI.
In your new role you willbe responsible forthe following :
- Coordinating and administering CTEP initiatives including managing trainee recruitment program materials participant records and database reporting to support NCI and institutional requirements.
- Planning executing and evaluating CTEP events meetings conferences and training activities while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assistingwith the coordination of student- and trainee-focused programs such as internships certificate programs and scholar initiatives including recruitment support application review coordination onboarding and program completion tracking.
- Coordinating with other UFHCI teams to facilitate trainingaward administration and program related academic HR and financial processes to ensure compliancetimelyprocessing and successful trainee participation.

Knowledge / Experience :
Bachelors degree in Education Public Administration Business Administration or a closely related field.Foundational knowledge of academic program coordination student affairs or general administrative operations.Some experienceassistingwith planning coordinating or evaluating programs meetings or events is preferred but notrequired.Skills / Abilities :
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and interact professionally with stakeholders.Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.Proficiencywith the Microsoft Office Suite.Academic Program Specialist II :
Knowledge / Experience :
Bachelors degree in Education Public Administration Business Administration or a closely related field.Two to three years of experience in academic program coordination student affairs graduate affairs or related administrative functions preferably within a health sciences or higher education environment.Experience coordinating and evaluating programs meetings conferences or training activities including vendor coordinationlogistics budgeting and scheduling.Skills / Abilities :
Demonstrated project coordination and program implementation skills includingabilitytoanticipatechallenges and implement solutions.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects competing priorities and deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proofreading and presentation development.Ability tomaintainconfidentiality exercise independent judgment and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with databases or reporting tools.Preferred :

Experience coordinating academic or trainee-focused programs within health sciences or research training environments.Familiarity with university systems data tracking reporting tools and trainee or program evaluation processes.Experience working with procurement processes vendor management or contract coordination.Knowledge of academic medical center or university administrative processes including travel coordination and procurement practices.Foundational knowledge of research administration federal grant guidelines or training grant programs such as T32 awards.Qualities :
