A Day in the Life

As a member of the Medtronic Diabetes Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Sensor R&D team this Senior Scientist will support the development of biosensors and CGM. The Senior Scientist will contribute to the advancement of biosensing technologies and product realization.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronics Diabetes business. The Senior Scientist role is in the Sensor R&D team with the focus on biosensor and CGM development.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the initiation design development execution and implementation of scientific research projects.

Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products.

Plans and executes laboratory research.

Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the art principles and theories and may contribute to scientific literature and conferences.

May participate in development of patent applications.

May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.

Required Knowledge and Experience : Requires a Bachelors degreeand minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.

Nice to have :

Medical Device Industry Experience

Experience in design and characterization

Demonstrated knowledge of biosensing fundamentals and materials

Experience in clean room or laboratory environment

Knowledge of medical device product development cycle

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD) : $110400.00 - $165600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification / education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
