Position Summary
The MemorialCare Project Management family is responsible for a range of activities related to the design, planning, execution, facilitation, implementation, and completion of information technology projects adhering to timeline, budget, and scope. They oversee all aspects of MemorialCare Information Services (IS) projects and are responsible for working closely with the project stakeholders, including vendor management. Throughout the course of projects, they assign responsibilities, monitor and report on progress of projects, as well as prepare reports for leadership regarding the status of the project.
Program Director serve to determine the MemorialCare's priorities for the short and long term, by defining needed resources and how IS programs, projects, and operational work supports strategic goals, and drive business value. They are responsible for the oversight of MemorialCare IS projects, programs, and portfolios to strategically align MemorialCare and create / implement solutions which support profitable operations. Program Director advise and lead evaluations and governance of all IS project requests with MemorialCare leadership. They perform IS project planning and resource planning activities. Upon identification of new projects, they engage in project selection activities. They complete resource procurement and continuous project plan reviews for changes in resource requirements to match availability with resource needs of the new project(s). They continually provide the portfolio roadmap containing its intended direction, interdependencies, milestones, benefits, and risks to the MemorialCare Board for proper visibility and accountability. The Program Director is an intricate part of IS team, driving proper decision-making that supports the organization's goals for quality care improvements in our communities. This position leads experienced team members to deliver on project goals as well as mentor and develop others to bridge the educational gap required for the long-term sustainability of all new initiatives. They serve as a team leader and main point of contact for resolving and remediating major project risks and challenges through guidance, support, and discipline as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Oversee and directly manage a project portfolio and lead the strategic planning, review and governance of initiatives associated with itManage all phases of assigned projects, including identifying and defining project requirements, defining scope and objectives, as well as preparing project proposals, timeframes, and overall scheduleOversee projects within the portfolio and develop key performance indicators and provide visibility into the portfolio roadmapLead or conduct comprehensive analysis associated with existing or proposed system solutionAssist in the evaluation, selection, implementation and use of advanced information technologyIdentify and resolve problems of varying complexity as well as conduct root cause analysis of problems, taking actions to prevent recurring instances of issuesCreate and maintain documentation, plans, templates, and reports on assigned initiativesDevelop and maintain comprehensive portfolio budgets and oversee expendituresEvaluates current PMO processes and tools and looks for ways to continuously improve by providing Leadership with solutionsMentor other members of the IS project management teamBe at work and be on timeFollow company policies, procedures and directivesInteract in a positive and constructive mannerPrioritize and multitaskPlacement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications / Work Experience :
Minimum 9 years project management or relevant experience requiredMinimum 7 years system analyst or equivalent business experienceMinimum 7 years leadership / management experienceExperienced in establishing and enforcing effective PMO strategies, methodologies, and processesRole model for MemorialCare Leadership ValuesDemonstrated ability to conduct research into new healthcare reform, trends, and PMI Portfolio management standardsExperienced in managing enterprise project portfolios, programs, and projects, including the management of the portfolio budget and the ability to interact with all staff levels of the organizationDemonstrated overall knowledge of the healthcare business environment, including Medical Groups, IPAs, and Health Plans for Managed Care business workflows including Hospital workflowExperienced working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and managing multiple prioritiesProven excellent leadership and relationship management skills, as well as the ability to manage and motivate direct and indirect reportsExperienced working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentDemonstrated high energy levels and tolerance of tight deadlines, time pressures, and ambiguityProven knowledge of PCs, collaborative computing tools, re-engineering and process improvement techniques, information management in healthcare, systems integration and basic project finance regulationsExperienced in leading projects, providing expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives, effectively dedicating time across more than one project, and meeting established deadlinesProven ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plansDemonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Suite Products requiredDemonstrated analytical, creative thinking, and problem-solving skillsProven superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; able to interact with individuals across all departmentsEducation / Licensure / Certification :
