American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of recent trauma experience and ARRT certification for an assignment in a hospital diagnostic radiology department.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based diagnostic radiology department assigned to ER or OR areasCare for both young and geriatric patient populationsPerform portable radiography and imaging procedures in various settings including IPD, OR, and ERUtilize GE, Carestream, and OEC C-Arms equipmentCerner is used for charting (Epic is not used)5x8 hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday and every other weekendNo on-call or block scheduling requiredTravelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospitalPerform and explain imaging procedures, position patients for optimal imaging, and use independent judgment for radiographic techniques and safetyMay administer intravenous contrast media and provide immediate care for reactionsEnsure radiation safety standards are met using ALARA principlesAssist with maintaining equipment and supplies, follow infection control practices, and complete required documentation in radiology and medical record systemsSupport team by training new hires and students as neededMust demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and respect for diversityOrientation and online modules must be completed onsite before assignment startsPersonal scrubs required\n \n Requirements\n
Current ARRT (RT) certification required or eligible (must obtain ARRT within 6 months if registry eligible)Active MI license required if applicableCurrent AHA BCLS certificationMinimum of 2 years of recent radiology technologist experience requiredLevel I or II trauma experience in an OR requiredHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to safely lift / move patients or equipment over 10 lbs as neededMust complete online training modules with passing scores prior to startCOVID-19 vaccination is required\n Benefits\n
