A civil engineering firm that specializes in Phase I planning, Phase II design, and Phase III construction engineering for transportation and municipal projects is looking to add a Construction Engineer to their team!

Job Responsibilities :

• Interpret and understand all contract documents, including plans, standard drawings, contractor shop drawings, specifications, and project provisions
• Conduct daily inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract requirements
• Monitor materials installed by contractors to ensure they meet specifications and certification standards
• Maintain accurate daily documentation of all contractor work in accordance with client standards
• Review contractor shop drawing submittals for compliance with project requirements
• Assist with survey layout and perform horizontal and vertical field checks using total station, GPS, or transit level
• Oversee contractor-installed Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) on a daily basis
• Communicate regularly with the assigned Project Manager and project team; experienced candidates may also interact directly with clients
• Visit and safely navigate construction sites while adhering to all safety regulations
• Be available for occasional evening, night, or weekend work as needed

This is a Permanent position based out of Aurora, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00 / yr.
