Description
Performs various routine or special chemical microscopic and bacteriologic laboratory tests. The duties of a Medical Technologist may be specific to a particular area of the laboratory such as chemistry hematology microbiology or the blood bank.

Performs an acceptable productivity level without a significant error rate on a variety of medical technology procedures including but not limited to performing tests on cells and microorganisms in body fluids examining growth patterns of bacteria and fungus in patient specimens and cultures analyzing blood and other body fluids and performing blood compatibility testing.
Quality is paramount in all aspects of daily functions and work processes to include specimen preparation assaying interpretation and results reporting in compliance with established policies and procedures. Performs quality control and instrument check procedures and maintains accurate and complete records of daily activities.
Consistently exhibits a professional manner appearance and performance in the approach to job related duties in an effort to maintain high standards in the delivery of quality health care services. When in contact with patients of different age ranges (e.g. pediatric adolescent geriatric) performs all patient care duties in a manner that demonstrates a humanistic attitude for the physical and psychological needs relevant to the age of the patient served.
Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients physicians pathologists staff and other individuals.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
