Position Overview

We're seeking a Public Relations Manager to own the brand's PR strategyfrom identifying key narratives and media opportunities to pitching and securing meaningful placements. While you'll have strong support and collaboration from our internal team, this role requires someone who can confidently lead the charge, build momentum, and take full responsibility for driving the PR vision forward.

Key Responsibilities

Earned Media Outreach : Proactively pitch story ideas, brand commentary, and expert quotes to digital and print outlets relevant to home, wellness, parenting, and sustainability.

Media Placement & Tracking : Secure consistent placements in blogs, podcasts, print, and online publications; track and report on PR KPIs like traffic, reach, and referral leads.

Awards & Recognition : Research and submit nominations for industry, sustainability, and business awards that align with our mission and leadership.

Thought Leadership : Help position our founder(s) and internal experts for podcasts, interviews, commentaries, and speaking opportunities.

Affiliate PR Support : Collaborate with affiliate creators and the internal team to amplify social proof and press around key campaigns and product launches.

Internal Comms & Cross-Team Collaboration : Partner with HR and brand leadership to support internal PR initiatives and company-wide recognition efforts.

Content Development : Assist in drafting press releases, contributor articles, bios, media kits, and communications briefs.

Brand Trust Development : Having a continuous pulse on what is happening on social media for strategic brand development, partnerships and media placements to assist in trust building for marketing and media buying efforts.

Qualifications

5 years + experience in PR, media relations, or communications (agency or in-house)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong research, organization, and project management abilities

Familiarity with tools like Cison Media Database, MuckRack, Prowly, PR Newswire, Business Wire, Global Newswire and / or similar media databases

A proactive, self-starting mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-led team

Experience in or passion for clean living, sustainable products, wellness, or parenting is a big plus

Bonus Skills

Basic design / layout experience (Canva, Figma, or similar)

Affiliate marketing or influencer PR experience

Experience with awards / nominations submission processes

Previous remote or startup work experience
