About The Position

Hours per Shift : 7 am to 3 : 30 pm, 6 : 30 am to 3 pm, 11 am to 7 : 30 pm

Certifications : BLS (AHA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA

Must-Have : Proficiency in total joints, ortho, general, and urology

Description :

The surgical tech will be proficient in various surgical procedures, particularly in total joints, ortho, general surgery, and urology.

The main operating room has 8 suites, with plans to open 6 OR rooms and 1 endoscopy room.

The average number of cases per day is 20-25.

The surgical tech will scrub in for procedures, while RNs are not required to scrub, although it is a plus if they can.

The staffing ratio is 1 : 1.

The facility is currently using an electronic medical record system.

The charge nurse is a clinical manager who facilitates schedules and moves cases.

The weekend requirement for staff involves working one out of every 7th or 8th weekend.

The call requirement for all surgical techs mirrors that of the nursing staff.

Response time for calls is 45 minutes.

During holidays, staff are on 24-hour call but only come on-site if called in.

Scrubs are provided for staff.

The operating room has staff in-house 24 / 7, including pharmacy services.

Shifts are typically 8 hours long, with variations based on case completion.

Common types of cases include orthopedic procedures, laparoscopic procedures, vascular, urology, ENT, endoscopy, GYN, and eye surgeries.

Please note that craniotomies, cardiac surgeries, and robotic procedures are not part of the surgical cases performed.
