Overview
A patient-centered outpatient therapy practice is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist / Hand Therapist to join its clinical team. This role is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about helping patients regain upper-extremity function, enjoy a collaborative team environment, and are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. Newer clinicians with interest in hand therapy and ongoing advanced training are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient evaluations and develop individualized plans of care in alignment with AOTA standards
- Deliver effective occupational and hand therapy treatments, including custom splinting and casting
- Establish clear, objective goals in collaboration with referring providers
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
- Modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical judgment
- Supervise therapy assistants and aides in accordance with state regulations
- Participate in student clinical education activities
- Communicate proactively with physicians, case managers, employers, and payers
- Assist with quality assurance, clinic maintenance, and program development
- Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (ACOTE / AOTA)Current CPR certificationCurrent TB test per state guidelinesMeets state board requirements for advanced practice in Hand Therapy and / or Physical Agent Modalities (or actively completing supervised training)Clinical Knowledge & Competencies
Upper-extremity anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathologyTissue healing principles, immobilization / mobilization conceptsUse and documentation of thermal and electrical modalitiesUnderstanding of post-operative protocols and upper-extremity surgical considerationsAbility to safely operate clinical equipmentSkills & Abilities
Strong communication and leadership abilitiesExcellent organization and clinical problem-solving skillsAbility to customize treatment plans using evidence-based practicesProficiency in electronic documentation systemsFine motor skills for splinting and detailed record-keepingPhysical Requirements
