Controller (Manufacturing) What You Will Own and Lead
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee daily accounting operations and maintain full responsibility for cost accounting and financial reporting.
Your responsibilities will include :
Leading, mentoring, and developing the accounting team, including oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and future hires as the department scales
Full ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting and complete general ledger accountability
Preparing and reviewing monthly financial reporting packages for executive leadership
Managing inventory accounting and comprehensive manufacturing cost accounting, including labor, material, and overhead analysis, standard costing, and overhead rate calculations
Ensuring accurate revenue recognition within a complex manufacturing environment
Driving cash management strategy, including forecasting and liquidity planning
Partnering with the CFO on cash flow forecasting and financial strategy
Designing and strengthening internal controls and scalable accounting processes to support rapid growth
Evaluating production costs, margins, and operational efficiency metrics
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning initiatives
Preparing audit schedules and serving as the primary liaison with external auditors
Identifying and implementing ERP enhancements and system improvements to elevate reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
Controller (Manufacturing) What You Bring
Required Experience :
Significant manufacturing accounting experience (contract manufacturing / EMS strongly preferred)
Deep cost accounting expertise
Strong GAAP foundation with hands-on ownership of the close process and financial statement preparation
Experience preparing complete financial statements
Proven leadership and team management experience
Preferred Background :
Experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, automotive, electronics, or related OEM manufacturing environments
Public accounting experience
CPA or CMA certification
Experience within a public company or SOX-compliant internal control environment (valuable for future growth initiatives)
Familiarity with JobBOSS ERP
Exposure to DCAA or DCMA audits and government contract accounting
