Adjunct- Political Science

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Pay Range : $47.35 per contact hour

Where : Lake County Campuses (Crown Point East Chicago and Gary)

PROGRAM OPERATION :

• Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes
• Work from statewide course syllabus for the course being taught to students and follow syllabus content and requirements
• Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook
• Submit requested information within established timelines

STUDENTS :

INSTRUCTION :

Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction understanding of the college infrastructure including but not limited to My Ivy and Ivy Learn and faculty credentials including an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution and appropriate teaching or professional experience as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction

A qualified Adjunct must meet the technical course standard through one of four routes :

This course provides an introduction to the theory of programming Computerized Numerical Controls for industrial metalworking machines. Also this course incorporates blueprint reading for interpreting working drawings used in the trade.
