Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed, including weekends. Driver's License (Preferred) Oakland, CA (Required) Education / Training : High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Five (5) years of hands-on / demonstrated experience as a heavy equipment operator 40-Hr HAZWOPER or current 8-Hr HAZWOPER Refresher Certification Construction industry experience, preferred Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
Equipment Operator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment and machinery to support the construction, maintenance, and operations of our facilities and projects. This role requires a strong foundation in equipment operation, a keen eye for safety, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and project goals.
Duties :
- Excavations / trenching inside closed landfills for landfill gas collections and leachate systems is a plus.
- Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.
- Ensures equipment is in good working order, at all times.
- Must possess skill, coordination, and awareness to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner with precision and efficiency.
- Able to slope or bench an excavation.
- Able to read and understand cut and fill stakes in order to align and position equipment appropriately.
- Willingness to operate heavy equipment for long periods with continuous attention to detail and safety.
- Observe and follow all applicable safety requirements.
- Maintain consistent communication among field crew members by use of hand signals or radio to align and position heavy equipment properly.
- Confirm necessary precautions have been taken to ensure no conflicts exist with both above and below-ground utilities.
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
