About the Unit

Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage distribution and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions accurately prepare and dispense medications provide evidence-based drug information monitor drug levels to optimize therapy and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being.

Today the hospital is a 1101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult traumaand Level II pediatric traumadesignations. Scope of Job

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist performs a variety of functions related to preparation storage and distribution of medication within the health system. The student will perform higher levels of professional support as they advance through pharmacy school. Embraces the goals / objectives encompassing Pharmaceutical activities for the Beaumont Healthcare System. Promotes team efforts to manage and achieve departmental / corporate objectives. Demonstrates good judgment and decisiveness throughout daily activities and personal commitment to professional growth.

Qualifications

Required High School Diploma or equivalent Fulfilling requirements towards a Pharm.D. degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
