Process Engineering Manager

The Process Engineering Manager leads the process engineering team, ensuring efficient roll-to-roll web processing and high-quality film manufacturing. This role drives operational excellence through plant design, process optimization, and continuous improvement using Lean, WCM, and Six Sigma methodologies. Responsibilities include managing engineering projects, supporting new product development, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with operations, quality, and commercial teams to meet safety, cost, and delivery targets. The position also focuses on employee development, facility safety, and achieving production KPIs while fostering innovation and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and Develop Engineering Team : Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to the coating and converting process engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive Process Optimization and Cost Reduction : Identify, scope, and execute improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize throughput, including planning and managing capital projects with minimal production disruption.
  • Support New Product Development and Trials : Partner with R&D to execute trials, ensure robust process design, and deliver new product introductions on time and within budget, while maintaining process stability and scalability.
  • Resolve Technical Challenges and Ensure Process Control : Utilize data-driven analysis to define problems, implement short- and long-term solutions, and drive IQ, OQ, and PQ requirements for repeatable, high-quality manufacturing processes.
  • Champion Innovation and Compliance : Stay current with emerging technologies, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to EH&S standards and company policies while building site-wide technical capabilities.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline. Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years management experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment, including team collaboration.
  • 3 to 5 years demonstrated track record identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Ability to lead in a team based environment and to work collaboratively to solve problems.
  • Knowledge and experience with six sigma, lean manufacturing, kaizen or World Class Manufacturing.
  • Must be proficient in QAD, MQ1 or similar applications.
  • Computer literacy required (MSExcel, MSPowerpoint, MSWord, MSAccess, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, including the ability to think quickly and creatively when faced with unforeseen circumstances.
  • Experience in composite or plastic film coating, converting, and processing.
  • Prior experience working in an ISO certified environment.

  • Pay Transparency : Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $102,000 to $158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200 to $178,500. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
