Development Coordinator

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Development Coordinator with excellent communication and customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. Reporting to the Director of Events, Donor Relations, and Stewardship, the Coordinator will support in-person and virtual events and communications with a focus on customer service, stewardship, and donor communications. They will provide administrative support to the Chief Partnerships Officer and Development team, including being point of contact on the Development phone line and emails accounts, managing event registration and attendance, and processing gifts.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in donor stewardship or relatable customer service experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge software or similar donor database preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar virtual event platform preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.
  • Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

About The Position :

  • Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
  • Provide excellent customer service and donor relations by managing the Development Department phone line and email accounts.
  • Coordinate all registration and RSVPs for PPLA in-person and virtual events including day of coordination of registration table(s), accurately tracking and communicating RSVPs, managing virtual event platforms, and other duties as needed.
  • Provide additional event support as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks for the Chief Partnerships Officer including heavy scheduling, expense reports and other duties as assigned
  • Coordinate the Development Department meetings and calendar.
  • Support fundraising for Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project LA County : data entry and donation processing, event support, managing mailings, including list management, mail merges, etc. for both print and email communications.
  • Support the Operations Team to track and report donor information, such as event attendance, biographical information, etc.
  • Support stewardship activities, including but not limited to donor communication, mailing, special projects and providing back up to the Philanthropy and Strategy Manager.
