The candidate will serve as a strategic technical leader, driving safe, reliable operations and maintenance of steam and combustion turbines and generators across the Evergy Generation Fleet.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Education and Experience Requirements :
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering preferred, with hands‑on experience in the design, operation, or maintenance of steam and combustion gas turbines, generators, and exciters. At least 4 years of experience in the design, operation and / or maintenance of steam and combustion gas turbines including generators and exciters is preferred. Familiarity with GE, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and Siemens (Westinghouse) turbine and generator technologies is highly valued, along with strong troubleshooting capabilities. OEM certifications are preferred. The ideal candidate demonstrates high initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and solid proficiency with computer-based tools.
Candidates without a bachelor’s degree in engineering may be considered if they have at least 10 years experience in OEM field service for the Program Manager role.

EIT or PE is preferred
Working Conditions :
Must have the ability to perform the physical activities of the job. Requires a balance of onsite plant work and office work. Requires the ability to work outdoors and in an industrial plant environment including, but not limited to, exposure to ambient temperature extremes, dusty / moist environments, climbing ladders and stairways, working at heights on elevated structures and platforms, and working in cramped spaces occasionally which may require bending, stooping, and standing.
