Production Planner – Chemical Manufacturing
Salary Range : starting at $70,000
Schedule : Monday- Friday 8+ hours per day, core hours 9 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM (Flexibility Required)
Work Environment : Office setting on a large, structured manufacturing campus
Position Overview
The Production Planner will play a critical role in developing, coordinating, and executing production schedules within a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment. This position requires strong communication and analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions.
The ideal candidate is proactive, energetic, and able to thrive in a cross-functional, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities throughout the workday.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, adjust, and implement production schedules to meet demand requirements.
- Maintain achievable build and ship plans with a focus on accuracy, cost, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Operations, tolling partners, and global affiliates to support supply needs.
- Develop capacity plans and communicate planning metrics, risks, and constraints to management.
- Identify critical material shortages and work with planning leadership on mitigating steps.
Inventory Management
Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders for Tolling and Buy / Resale activities.Generate and distribute periodic reports including inventory positions and material balance summaries.Support new material setup including BOMs, recipes, and master data.Develop subject matter expertise on inventory needs and current state.Decision-Making & Cross-Functional Support
Make timely decisions within defined parameters, addressing issues of moderate complexity.Work collaboratively with Operations, Customer Service, Commercial, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to resolve capacity, material, and demand challenges.Manage competing prioritiesParticipate in improvement projects and support various plant departments as needed.On-Call Responsibilities
Afterhours on call responsibility, including nights and weekends.Provide remote support using a company-issued laptop.Required Skills & Competencies

Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field preferred.Work Environment
Office-based role located on a large, organized manufacturing campus with a structured and professional setting.Hybrid work environment with minimum 3 days required in office per week.Frequent interaction with plant personnel and occasional exposure to production areas.Direct, hands-on training provided by experienced production planning staff.
