Job Summary: The HELIN Institute is seeking part-time (3 hours per day) program instructors for our Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. The successful candidates must be able to provide direction, oversight and instruction and curriculum development, as well as student oversight for the social emotional learning based expanded learning opportunities program. This position is responsible for the delivery of curriculum-based textbook, hands on, and applicable programs in their area of expertise. Will train and assist other instructors with delivery program curriculum, including data collection.
Qualifications: Proven ability to instruct and delivery curriculum in an educational setting and relevant work experience providing social emotional learning programs to school-aged youth. The ability to navigate public-school facilities and other outdoor terrain as part of normal duties is required.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Instructor is responsible for safe student oversight and implementing the organization’s programs. Their responsibilities typically include the following:
· Assist Program Director in implementing the Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELO-P) with local Sacramento Region School District.
· Deliver expanded learning opportunity program curriculum to school-age students. Instruct students of up to (20) in an expanded learning opportunities program curriculum.
· Lead group discussions to answer operational questions and remedy programmatic and student compliant to ensure the satisfaction of participants and parents.
· Create and nurture effective communications within the ELO-Program.
· Evaluate effectiveness of ELO-P curriculum and create a culture of equity and inclusion.
· Build a strong team through open communication and by collaborating with the team.
· Plan, schedule and manage daily, weekly, monthly program calendar to ensure course curriculum is delivered as designed.
· Ensure all safety and security protocols and student attendance policies are adhered to.
· Maintain program performance goals and ensure program instructions meet the HELIN Institute’s strategic objectives.
Preference will be given to the candidate who has the right combination of education and experience to offer the students at Robla School District a hands-on experience through its many resources, HELIN Institute curriculum, working with students in an academic setting, access to multiple software packages and hands on classroom equipment. The preferred candidate must demonstrate the necessary motivation to learn new social emotional learning techniques and implement those techniques into the classroom/after-school sessions. The preferred candidate must be committed to build and maintain strong relationships with producers, campus members, and the agriculture community.
Salary: $20-$25 per hour
Job Type: Contract, 180-days, 3-hours per day (540 hours)
