What’s the role?
The Police Officer’s primary responsibility is to promote community order and protect life and property through the preservation of the public peace, prevention of crime and enforcement of laws. Hudson Police Department is committed to the philosophy of community-oriented policing in dealing with the issues of the day. At the commencement of employment, police officer – laterals and entry level recruits will begin their field training program. The length of the field training program may be modified based upon performance and experience. The Essentials

• Ohio Peace Officers Commission Training certificate
• A minimum of 21 years of age
• Eligible to work in the United States

What you will do – Provide Community Service such as…

• Responding to requests for police service
• Preventing and detecting criminal activity
• Juvenile diversion programs
• Vacation watch and senior watch visits
• Providing public assistance and education
• Participation in METRO SWAT, Bike Unit, Detective Bureau, US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force

Applicant must have the following qualifications to apply:

• A current and valid Ohio Police Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification at time of appointment.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree and/or bachelor’s degree preferred.
