Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $1,944 per week in Fairfax, VA

Job Title : ICU / PCU Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Intensive Care Unit / Progressive Care Unit Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 hours Hours per Shift : 7 AM - 7 PM Experience : Minimum 2 years ICU and PCU / Tele experience required. License : Current Registered Nurse license. Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have : Prior travel experience required. Experience with stroke patients using NIHSS. Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms. Description : This position requires a minimum of 2 years of ICU and PCU / Tele experience. Candidates must have prior travel experience. Work will be split approximately 50% in ICU and 50% in PCU / Tele. Charge and precepting experience is strongly preferred. Common diagnoses and types of patients include CHF, stroke, sepsis, cardiac dysrhythmias, pneumonia, diabetes, and respiratory issues. The nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 4 during the day and night shifts. There is a free-floating resource nurse available each shift. No specific dress code is provided, but scrub colors are navy blue. The ICU has 12 beds with a nurse-patient ratio of 2 : 1. RNs are required to titrate drips, including vasopressors and antihypertensives. A charge nurse is present on each shift for support. Respiratory Therapists are available to assist with vent management. Travelers will take a full assignment with a maximum of four patients and are the first to float. Weekend expectations include every other weekend. Holiday expectations include working one major and one minor holiday. Epic access is required for this position.
