About The Position

About the Role :

A hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their Wound Care & Ostomy clinic. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient care responsibilities, working closely with colorectal and urology surgeons to provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities :

Assess wound status, skin integrity, and overall health of ostomy patients

Develop and implement individualized care plans for wound healing and complication management

Educate patients and families on ostomy care, life adaptations, and follow-up care

Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care

Utilize evidence-based wound care techniques to promote healing and prevent infection

Maintain accurate documentation following hospital and regulatory standards

Job Requirements

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (BCNP) by start date

Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification (WOCN) - Required, no exceptions

Active New York State NP license (or willingness to obtain)

DEA certification (or willingness to obtain)

Minimum 1 year NP experience preferred, especially in wound care and ostomy management (new grads 2025 considered)

Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care

Not accepting locum candidates; local candidates within 30 miles prioritized
