The Library Specialist, Mobile Library Services temporary position supports community members through welcoming, inclusive library service delivered in assisted living communities and outreach locations.

Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a temporary Library Specialist, Mobile Library Services to provide direct patron assistance, materials support, and outreach services through lobby stops and mobile settings. This role focuses on patron engagement, materials handling, and outreach support, helping ensure library services remain accessible and responsive across the community.

About the Role

The Library Specialist, Mobile Library Services, works primarily in assisted living communities and smaller outreach locations, with cross training on bookmobile services. This position is well suited for someone who can adapt quickly to changing locations and patron needs while maintaining a calm, supportive presence. This role represents the library in community-based environments while supporting patron needs, library materials, and programs. Work takes place in mobile and shared spaces, both indoors and outdoors, and may include evenings and on some occasions weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Patron Assistance

• Greets and assists community members at outreach locations, including assisted living communities and the bookmobile
• Provides readers advisory, basic reference assistance, and library account support
• Promotes library resources, programs, and events and connects patrons with additional staff as needed
• Listens to feedback, sets expectations for library use, and helps de escalate and resolve concerns
• Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment
