District Sales Manager
The District Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth in the Southern California and Southern Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming territory through a combination of direct capital equipment sales and leadership of independent manufacturing representatives and distribution partners. This is a hands-on, demonstration-intensive technical sales role focused on high-value precision measurement and inspection systems. The position requires frequent travel, regular equipment demonstrations, technical training, and a proven ability to exceed sales quotas in industrial, metrology, or related capital equipment markets.
Responsibilities include :
- Selling directly and through qualified manufacturing representatives. Supporting local distribution and promoting the entire product line within the assigned territory.
- Product portfolio is demonstration-intensive required to regularly transport and showcase equipment at customer sites. Frequent hands-on demonstrations are a key part of the sales process and essential to supporting customer understanding and engagement.
- Following up on leads generated through central marketing activity, trade shows, as well as those generated independently such as through cold calls and telemarketing.
- Meeting or exceeding sales volume quotas for direct and indirect sales turnover.
- Monitoring sales within assigned territories and reporting on progress, orders, representative information, and other data as required by management.
- Providing first-line technical support on issues pertaining to all equipment sold or previously installed within the specified territory.
- Identifying new sales opportunities within the territory and exploiting each fully.
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Producing weekly activity reports, monthly forecast reports, and annual budget reports on a rolling twelve-month schedule by product, Sales Representative, Distribution, and dollar value.
- Maintaining and updating CRM with activity and demonstration reports.
- Overseeing, planning, scheduling, and providing technical support / training for existing products and ensuring that all is provided to Representatives and Distribution.
- Installing and training customers on all equipment and ensuring Representatives / Agents / Distribution are qualified to install and train on equipment sold by themselves.
- Taking full responsibility for demonstration inventory issued to you and the Representatives in your territory, including annual inventory counts and transfers.
- Providing internal sales with details for product quotations.
- Attending Trade Shows.
- Traveling away from home up to 14 days a month.
- Performing other duties as required.

Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical field strongly preferredMinimum 5 years of successful capital equipment sales experience (industrial, metrology, machine tool, precision instrumentation, or similar highly technical markets)Technical & Professional Skills :
Proven track record of meeting / exceeding sales quotas through both direct and indirect channelsStrong technical aptitude with ability to conduct in-depth equipment demonstrations and provide post-sale technical support / trainingExperience managing and developing independent sales representatives and distributors across a multi-state territoryProficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systemsExcellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
