Associate Investment Consultant
At Highland Associates, the Associate Investment Consultant plays a key supporting role in delivering a high standard of client service, developing customized investment solutions and managing client relationships, under the direction and guidance of Consultants and Senior Consultants. The Associate Consultant helps the firm develop and acquire new relationships through supporting the business development process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supports Senior Consultants and Consultants with client relationships
- Participates in routine dialogue with clients, as needed
- Coordinates the efforts of Highland Associate's Research, Portfolio Operations, and Performance Teams to ensure client needs are satisfied
- Supports the asset allocation process including: performing strategic client evaluations, portfolio modeling and optimization, manager positioning, developing portfolio recommendations and monitoring the investment policy statement for relevance and updates to reflect any recommendations and rebalances portfolios accordingly
- Supports the production of the quarterly client materials and special reports for client presentations such as: manager searches, asset allocation recommendations and education sessions
- Executes client deliverables to high standards of quality and accuracy
- Develops a general knowledge of recommended investment management firms, products, and strategies
- Supports the production of client communications and client training materials about various investment topics
- Participates in internal investment committee and/or subcommittee meetings, as needed
- Supports request for proposal (RFP) production
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Preferences
- Previous experience working in the Investment Management and/or Financial Services industry
- Progress toward professional designation(s) such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
Job Range Target: Minimum: $67,694.00 USD Median: $93,740.00 USD Incentive Pay Plans: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
