Med / Surg RN Job Details – Tallahassee, FL

Location : Tallahassee, FL 32308 (Florida nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 8-13 weeks (travel nursing contract)

Employment Type : Travel, On-Site

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36

Start Date : December 22, 2025

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530-$1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida RN license preferred)

BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Med / Surg RN

Experience in Same Day Surgery, Detox, Bone Marrow Transplant, Mental Health, or IDD is a plus

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for medical-surgical patients

Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to identify teaching needs and set care goals

Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and initiate discharge planning from admission

Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity and safety of care

Provide direction, training, and supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)

Promote and maintain patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies and clinical best practices

Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit-based team building activities

Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation

Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
