Rheumatology Physician Opportunity Near ROCKAWAY PARK, NY

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Rheumatology trained physician to join our healthcare team, dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications :

  • Clinical Experience : 1-3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Patient-Centered Approach : Exhibit a patient-centered approach toward ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Communication Skills : Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Interest in Population Health : Display an interest in Population Health.

Responsibilities :

  • Patient Evaluation :

    • Review patients history and perform a physical examination.

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
  • Diagnostic Tests :

    • Recommend and order lab tests, including X-rays of the joints, to determine the extent of illness or help diagnose conditions.

  • Specialized Diagnosis and Treatment :

    • Diagnose disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and immune system.

  • Diagnose and treat rheumatic disorders of the skeletal system, muscles, and joints.
  • Treat patients with rheumatic diseases, including but not limited to lupus, tendonitis, arthritis, myositis, scleroderma, and osteoporosis.
  • Prescription and Management :

    • Prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications.

  • Formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
  • Referral and Collaboration :

    • Refer to occupational or physical therapy as required.

  • Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.

    • Qualifications :

  • Degree : Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or foreign equivalent.
  • Residency : Completion of three-year postgraduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
  • Fellowship : Completion of a Rheumatology Fellowship.
  • Certification : Board Eligible / Board Certified in Rheumatology.
  • Licensure : Candidate must possess or be eligible for a New York State License.
  • Registration : Be eligible for DEA registration.
  • Reimbursement : Be eligible for Medicare / Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Certification : BLS or ACLS certification required but both strongly preferred.
  • Communication Skills : Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Technology Comfort : Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.

    • Medical Office Hours of Operation :

  • Monday-Wednesday : 8 : 00 AM 6 : 00 PM
  • Thursday : 8 : 00 AM 8 : 00 PM
  • Friday : 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM
